Honest Review: Glossybox Feb 2018

I recently heard about Glossybox and wanted to give it a try. Glossybox is a monthly makeup subscription box. It is similar to Ipsy and Birchbox but slightly more expensive. It costs $21 per month. But you are guaranteed 3 full size products each month!!!!

The products came in a really cute box, inside they were wrapped in tissue paper and a bow. Very nice presentation. It comes with a pamphlet that tells you all about the months theme and what each product is used for. It also tells you what each product's retail price is. Here is a breakdown of the February 2018 box!

JJ Young Pore Rosehip Mud Sheet Mask This mask retails for $4.99. Their description: "Nutrient-rich rosehip extract helps strengthen skin and controls sebum while oil-absorbing bentonite and purifying kaolin help eliminate impurities and lift sagging skin."

I am usually not a fan of sheet masks but I loved this mask!! It is actually mud on a sheet! Putting it on was easy and it felt great! It give a really nice cooling feel while it dries. It left my face feeling soft and refreshed! I definitely recommend trying it for yourself!

John Masters Organics Geranium & Grapefruit Bodywash This body wash comes in two different sizes. You can get the 2oz deluxe sample size (which came in the box) for $6.50 or the 8oz for $18.00. Their description: "Fan favorite Geranium & Grapefruit Body Wash lathers into a rich, creamy foam to gently wash away dirt and oil without drying your skin. Essential oils of geranium, grapefruit & lavender nourish and leave you with a clean, invigorating scent."

If you like the smell of citrus you will like this body wash. The scent is a little too strong for me.

John Masters Organics Geranium & Grapefruit Body Milk Just like the body wash the body milk comes in 2 sizes. The 2oz deluxe sample (which came in the box) for $6.50 or the 8oz for $18.00. Their description: "This light-weight formula absorbs quickly and provides moisture and softness with essential oils of geranium, grapefruit and lavender. Perfect for use all over the body."

As with the body wash the scent of the body milk is too strong for me. It does dry into your skin nice, no tacky residue. It left my hands feeling nice and soft. So again if you like citrus you should try this out!

Royal Apothic Scrubbie Sugar Lip Scrub Oddly enough I can not find this lip scrub for sale. The Royal Apothic website does not have any lip scrubs for sale. I was able to find a listing on Lord and Taylor's website but it is sold out. I am confused why Glossybox would send this out if it can't be purchased....weird. According to Glossybox it retails for $14.00. Their description: "A gentle, exfoliating scrub made of natural sugars to resurface lips and leave them feeling silky smooth."

This lip scrub doesn't taste very good. I mean it's not terrible it just isn't very good either. It worked so so. It left my lips softer than before I put it on but It didn't get off all the dead skin....maybe I just need to scrub harder.... I don't know.

Doucce Lip Definer Pencil in Mira 471 This lip pencil retails for $20.00. Their description: "Easy to use, long wearing, and richly pigmented, the Lip Definer is the first step in any gorgeous lipstick routine to enhance the wearer’s uniqueness and prolong wearability. The rich formula glides on smoothly without any tugging or pulling and will not smear or budge once set."

This lip pencil it nice and creamy. It doesn't feel heavy at all. I have not tried it for extended period of time yet so I can not comment on how long it lasts. The color doesn't really doesn't match any lip color I own so it probably won't get much use...

Pick and Pinch Slant Tweezers I am having the same problem with the tweezers as I had with the lip scrub. I have only been able to find them on resale sites. No where for retail. Glossybox says they retail for $20.

These are really nice tweezers. The are very sturdy and feel like they will last a long time. the tip is nice and pointy so plucking those little pesky hairs won't be a problem. I wish you could try it for yourself....

My initial impression of Glossybox is not very good. I was disappointed that their weren't any big name products in the box. Other reviews I had read lead me to believe their might have been. After researching the products I am feeling like Glossybox is kind of shady. Two products that I can't buy? Isn't the point of these makeup boxes to turn us on to new products that we will hopefully buy?? I don't know.

According to Glossybox the retail value of this box is $72 but without being able to confirm 2 of the prices I really don't know the real value.
