Honest Review: Ipsy Monthly Subscription Makeup Bag Dec 2017

Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out my latest blog! I just received my Dec Ipsy bag and wanted to tell you all about it!

Ipsy is a monthly subscription specializing in personalized makeup and beauty products. They also have exclusive offers, and how-to video tutorials from our ipsyStylists on their website and social media accounts. Each month subscribers receive a gorgeous Glam Bag with 5 deluxe samples or full-size goodies for only $10.

Start your own subscription by clicking here!

The bag itself was nothing special. It has a little glitter at the top but other than that it's pretty boring. The theme for this month is "Snow Globe" but none of the products seem "wintery" to me. Check out what was inside:

Luxie Precision Shader 239: This is my favorite item in the bag. I love brushes! This brush is available on their site but only in the rose gold color. It retails for $14. Here is the official description: Luxie Beauty’s signature Rose Gold brush line features premium soft, synthetic bristles encased in a rose gold ferrule atop a chic pink handle. Our brushes are handcrafted to perfection using hypoallergenic, high-quality, vegan and cruelty-free materials.

This brush is super soft and feels amazing! I love that it is slightly pointed so you can get shadow into your crease. The brush feels sturdy, it doesn't feel like the bristles will fall out. I definitely like this brush!

You can buy yours at https://www.luxiebeauty.com/luxie-rose-gold-precision-shader-239/

Dirty Little Secrets Fetch Eye shadow Crayon: This is a full size eye shadow crayon. It retails for $14. Here is the description from the website: Light-pink eyeshadow crayon with peachy undertones. Can be used alone, as a base, or as a highlighter. Weight: 3g  Product Features: Creamy & Opaque, Multi-purpose: eyeshadow, base or highlighter, Glows, Doesn't crease, Easy to apply anywhere.

To me, depending on the light, the color looks brown/copper/light pink with peach undertones. It is super creamy and it does have a nice glow. It is VERY subtle on. It would be great for layering. It feels nice and light on my skin. I actually really like this crayon and will be adding it to my makeup arsenal

You can buy yours at https://www.shopdirtylittlesecret.com/collections/eyes/products/fetch.

OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Unzipped: This is a sample size but at 5g it is only 1g off from the full size. The full size retails for $20. Here's the official description: one-step full lip color that does not feather. These vibrant colors will give you a vivacious new look. They are creamy and soft in texture, moisturizing the lips and creating a long-lasting lipstick effect. No need to use lipliner, this liquid lipstick gives a beautiful edge to your lip look!

This color is really pretty. It is like a dark dusty rose. It makes an awesome bold lip color. (The picture really doesn't do it justice) It is a special color created for Ipsy but is also available for purchase on OFRA's site. This might be petty but I don't like that Ipsy added their advertising to the packaging (you can see it in the 2nd picture). The lipstick came out a little clumpy at first but after wiping off the excess it goes on nice and smooth and creamy. I think this is a win!

treStique Mini Brow Pencil in Americano: I will call this a full size product. Even though it is named "mini" you can buy this size on their site. It retails for $10. Here's their description: Mini Brow Pencil with a triangular-tip to accent and define creating naturally full beautiful brows. Brows will be perfectly defined with a soft natural look.

The Americano color is a medium brown shade. They suggest it for blondes and brunettes. I like the applicator. It is a triangular shape which works well for brows. It also telescopes out kind of like a tube of lipstick. That is awesome for not wasting too much product. Unfortunately I found it hard to apply. Unless I pressed down really hard the color just didn't show up. For me this is going to go in the back of my drawer and probably won't get much use.

You can buy it at  https://trestique.com/products/mini-brow-pencil

Promise Organic Nourishing Daily Facial Scrub with Sugar & Walnut: This is a trial size product. The full size 3oz version is available for $9.99. Promise Organic is a CVS exclusive brand. Here is the decription: A unique blend of organic sugar and organic walnut shells to gently exfoliate the skin on a daily basis. For normal to combination skin. An aloe-based formula has a touch of organic honey to moisturize and soothe Creates a gentle foam to cleanse the skin while it exfoliates. Packed with naturally derived ingredients. Dermatologist tested; safe for sensitive skin; pH balanced

This scrub felt good while I was using it. It isn't too harsh on the skin. It left my skin feeling soft but a little tight. I like that the products are natural and organic. I have super sensitive skin so its definitely a plus that is is safe for sensitive skin. The fact that it is a CVS exclusive makes me feel like it is kinda cheap. (sorry but I said I would be honest!) Overall I like it but I don't think I would go out to buy more.

You can get it at https://www.cvs.com/shop/promise-nourishing-coconut-milk-daily-facial-scrub-3-oz-prodid-1150524?skuId=467308&DCSext.TriadCampID=A9093

What I think overall: This was not one of the best bags I've ever gotten but it was still a pretty good bag. There were no big name products which I love getting. On the other hand I did like the colors of the products and getting 3 (practically 4) full size products is awesome! I would rate this bag as a win!

The total value of the bag was $57.50!

Welcome to my blog!

Hello all and welcome!

Fair warning I am new to blogging and I'm kinda just winging it. :-)

I have recently started getting into trying out and reviewing products. I realized that many people sell out and give false reviews for more free products or other "benefits". Here is where my blog comes in. I promise to be 100% honest in every review I give. I will also be blogging reviews for various monthly subscription boxes I try. I have also been doing surveys that pay you in gift cards!

Let me tell you about the sites I have found so far:

bzzagent.com: On this site you take surveys to qualify for "Campaigns". You can up your chances of  getting qualifying by adding your social media accounts. The more active you are on        them the better chance you have for qualifying! So far I have qualified for 1 campaign. I was send a free full size bottle of Gain's newest scent. I used it for a month and then wrote a review. I can't wait for my next review!

Influenster.com: On Influenster you complete "Snaps" to qualify for a "Voxbox". To complete a "snap" you simply review products you have used in the past. The more "snaps" you          review that better chance you will get a "VoxBox". A "VoxBox" is a box containing whatever product is being featured. You get the products in the box for free in exchange for sharing the information on your social media, posting reviews, completing challenges and posting pictures. I just get an email today letting me know I was picked for the next VoxBox that will contain a brand new product from    Loreal Paris! I am so excited!! Influenster also has campaigns that when completed will enter you in drawings for awesome products!

Mypoints.com: This site offers surveys you can take in exchange for points. The points you can get    differ from survey to survey. You don't always qualify but for the first 5 you don't qualify for each day Mypoints gives you 5 points. Once you accrue points you can cash them out for gift cards. To make sure it was legit I cashed out at a low amount. Guess what...It is legit! I got a $15 amazon gift card, used it and it worked! It does take a few days for your gift card to get emailed to you so don't worry if you don't get it immediately.  There are other ways to earn more points. They offer coupons  that will give you 1 point for printing out and 5 points for using. You can use their site to purchase products from sites you already use to get more points. You can watch video's and play games to get points.

Peanutlabs.com: This site is connected to Mypoints. When you run out of surveys on Mypoints click on over to Peanutlabs. You will get more surveys and the points will be added to          your Mypoints balance!

Mysurvey.com: Very similar to Mypoints. They offer surveys in exchange for points that you can cash out for gift cards. I have tested them out and they are legit! As on Mypoints hose a $15 Amazon gift card and It worked! In addition to the points you get toward gift cards you also get entries in their monthly sweepstakes. They also partnership with Unicef.

There you have it. Those are the sites I have personally tried out and found to be legit! I hope you will check them out too and join in on the fun! Let me know what you think! I hope you'll come back to check out my future reviews and random stuff!

Thanks!!!!
